Del Convento di Susa about the later addition to the Major Legend of St. Bonaventure at n. 1325 the Franciscan Sources

" In Susa, a young Rivarolo Canavese, named Ubertino, he entered the Order of Friars Minor. During the novitiate, because of a terrible fright, became insane and suffering from very severe paralysis in the entire right side, with lost motion sensitivity, hearing and speech. With great sadness of the friars, he was lying in bed in that pitiful condition for many days, and while we came to the feast of St. Francis. the eve, had a moment of lucid interval and, as he could, he began to plead with words indistinct but fervent faith, the pious father. At the time of the morning, while all the other brothers were in the choir, praise to the divine intent, here, the blessed father appeared to novice in the infirmary, dressed in the garb of the friars, by shining a great light in quell'abitazione (cf. Acts 12.7). And, placing his hand on his right side, the slid gently from head to feet, and put fingers in the ear (Mk 7.33) and imposed a special sign on the right shoulder, saying: "This will be the sign for you that God, using me, that you wanted to imitate entering Religion, has given back to you perfect health ". Then, putting his girdle, which, in bed, the novice was wearing, said:" Get up and go to church to celebrate devoutly, along with others, the required praises of God. "Having said that, while the young man tried to touch it with your hands and kiss his feet, in token of thanks, blessed father disappeared from his sight. The young man regained health and clarity of mind, sensitivity, and the word, entered the church, including the amazement of the monks and secular, to present the fact that they had seen the young man when he was lame and mindless participated in the recitation of the praises and then told to order the miracle, firing all the devotion to Christ and the Blessed Francis. Original Text:
